They say you can not judge a book by its cover, but perhaps you can by its title, and Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic: War well that says it all. This action packed comic starts off strong in the heart of a battle and the action keeps on going through the entire issue.
Our story begins during the height of the Mandolorian War as a group of rebels led by group of Jedi Knights that have gone rogue and defy the Jedi Council order to remain out of the conflicts. The Republic does not have an army but instead it hires local militants and militias to do their fighting for them.
The rogue Jedi and local Militia start a raid on the planet Essien, a small planet in the Outer Rim. The Jedi lead the way into battle followed by the locals who are ambushed by the Mandolorians. Zayne Carrack battles with his light saber, even though he is not a Jedi. Then just when it looks like the battle will be lost the Republic Navy comes in to save the day by blowing up the beach.
The story continues as does the action and when the action begins to take off the issue comes to an end as one of the main characters is being questioned and treated like a spy and then the battle takes another major turn in the action.
The art work is good but the coloring is outstanding and adds to the artwork. The story is well written and Star Wars fans have a lot to like with the two new titles from Dark Horse (Agent of the Empire & Knights of the Old Republic: War) there are some great story lines and you could not want a better time to start reading the Star Wars line by Dark Horse.
