Last Minute Gift Idea #1 – KISS KOMPENDIUM
If you are like me and just started doing your holiday shopping this week you might be looking for some gift ideas well here is one for you. If you have a KISS fan, a comic book collector, an advid reader, or just looking for s HUGE gift then the KISS Kompendium by Collins Designs has you covered.
KISS is one of the biggest rock groups in the world and the KISS Kompendium is just as big as it is one of the largest books in the book store.
Weighing in at nearly 10 pounds at a mere 1280 pages this will keep you reading for a long time. The book covers nearly 30 years of some Klassic KISS Komics. Though not all the KISS Komics are here there are a great number with 48 Komics selected for the massive book.
The Book is broken down by the original publisher. Marvel (3 Komics), KISStory (1), Todd McFarlane + Image Comics: Psycho Circus (31), Dark Horse Comics (13).
Both Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley each have written a Foreword and explain how KISS and Komics have gone together and grown with each other over the years.
The book starts with the Komic that was printed with the blood from KISS, the Marvel KISS Classics: KISS Super Special #1.
From there the Image Psycho Circus Kollection is well covered and you will spend a couple hours reading here.
Then the Dark Horse Kollection is represented by the first 13 issues. Plus there are some other individual Komics in cluded.
One of the best is the bonus feature of Klassic KISS Photos that go through the KISStory of the band. All four of the original members are here and even some newer photos. There are behind the scenes photos and some great wide angle shots.
THE GOOD
Take off the dust cover and you will find a cover that will stand out with an eye catching Komic graphics, actually it is taken from one of the Komics. It will catch your attention from across the room.
THE BAD
Finding something that was off wasn’t easy as the book has a lot ot offer, but there are some of the older Marvel KISS Classics are missing, but you can’t have it all.
OVERALL
It’s a great buy and worth the price wether you are a KISS fan, or a Komic reader this book is a must have for your Kollection. If you can find it buy it you won’t be sorry.
