I have to start by admitting that I am not a fan of the Halo games. That being said when I began reading Uprising I was hooked to the Halo story line. Halo Uprising fills the gap between the second and third video games.
The story takes place on Mars with Master Chief Anderson and in Cleveland with Ruwan and Myras Tyla. Master Chief Anderson is on Mars and gets captured wile fighting the aliens. To save time before he is executed he mentions about the Key of Osanalan and how it is hidden in the city of Cleveland on Earth.
In Cleveland we meet Ruwan and Tyla as they are escaping from the alien invasion. But as this is going on we have flashbacks and learn about both Ruwan and Anderson as they were going up as brothers and fighting imaginary dragons.
Halo Uprising is a true masterpiece and had me hooked from the first page. The artwork and the story are not only great but make each other even better, if that is even possible. The art from the explosions, to the spacescapes, to the facial expressions are all excellent and are beautiful to the eye of the reader.
The story is just as good if not better then the art work. It grabs you and holds you throughout the entire book. The story takes place on several different lines you have the battle on Mars and Master Chief Anderson fighting for his life. You have the fighting in Cleveland where the aliens are looking for the Key of Osanalan and Rowan and Tyla are also fighting for their lives. And the third line is flashbacks of two brothers fighting imaginary dragons. All three of these lines tie together perfectly and enhance each other.
