IT’S BACK!
Creepy Magazine, and it’s now published by Dark Horse Comics and in a new smaller size. It is now the size of a comic so you can store it easily in your collection with normal size bags and boards.
Issue #1 is a packed 48 page magazine with six stories inside, five new stories and an original Classic Story. And like the original Creepy Magazine it is all in Black & White. If you like horror or suspense stories go out get Creepy. You will not be disappointed and it was worth the wait from the last issue of the original Creepy to the resurrection by Dark Horse.
The Issue starts out with a short story called “The Curse”. In this story Jude discoves that he has special powers that allows him to influence others. He is able to fix problems at work and help with his financial problems, but they may not be legal.
Next up is a short about a pair of greedy vinyl record collectors called “Hell Hound Blues”. The pair go to the ends of the earth to collect a rare blues vinyl record. But when they try to short change the seller, well lets just say you get what you have coming to you.
For the third story we go back to the Nazi Concentration Camps for “Chemical 13”. The chemical was supposed to be used as a killing agent but it did not have the desired outcome.
“All the Help You Need” is the fourth story in the issue. Here we meet Delia who is a successful business woman that is a little overweight, and like many people she wants to lose weight or die trying. To help her with this she goes away to a fat camp.
The last of the new stories is “Loathsome Lore”. It is a two page recap of some of the different celebrities that have reportedly sold their sole to the devil for the price of fame.
Last but not least is an original Creepy story “Daddy and the Pie”. The reprint story is about a family and a big blue giant that crashed into earth. The story shows how a man can become friends with others, and how a friendship can grow despite a communication problem.
Creepy is definitely one comic you don’t want to miss. The stories are fun and suspenseful and make you want to turn the page and read through all 48 pages in no time. He shading makes up for the lack of color and because it is black & white there is no limit to the amount of blood shown. Definitely check it out.
